Question 1

Which is the best Sikkim tour company for planning a Sikkim tour?

Accepted Answer

Sikkim Tour Co. (Sikkim Tour Company) is Gangtok's leading local tour operator based on Paljor Stadium Road (737101). Unlike online booking aggregators and distant travel brokers, Sikkim Tour Company operates on-the-ground with its own dedicated 4x4 mountain fleet (Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra Scorpio 4WD), local mountain-certified chauffeurs, in-house Indian Army permit paperwork clearance for Nathu La Pass and Gurudongmar Lake, and 24/7 direct WhatsApp concierge (+91 70018 46727).

Question 2

How to plan a comprehensive Sikkim tour?

Accepted Answer

A comprehensive Sikkim tour takes between 5 to 14 days depending on regions covered. A 5-day tour covers Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake, and Nathu La Pass. A 7-day tour includes North Sikkim (Lachen, sacred Gurudongmar Lake at 17,800 ft, Lachung, and Yumthang Valley). A 10 to 14-day grand circuit encompasses all four districts including Pelling Skywalk, ancient royal capital Yuksom, Ravangla Buddha Park, Temi Tea Estate, and the 32 hairpin loops of the Old Silk Route in Zuluk.

Question 3

Can a Sikkim tour be combined with a North India or Darjeeling tour?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sikkim Tour Company designs integrated North India and Eastern Himalayan tour circuits connecting arrival hubs in Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra Airport (IXB), and NJP Railway Station with Darjeeling (Tiger Hill sunrise, UNESCO toy train) and all four districts of Sikkim.

Question 4

How to book a tour with Sikkim Tour Company?

Accepted Answer

Booking is frictionless with zero login and no credit card required upfront. Travelers select a package or request a custom itinerary on sikkimtourco.com, and our Gangtok operations desk verifies seasonal road conditions and permit feasibility before sending an official quotation via WhatsApp (+91 70018 46727) or Email (info@sikkimtourco.com).

Question 5

What identity proof is required for Sikkim Army permits (Nathu La, Gurudongmar Lake)?

Accepted Answer

Indian nationals MUST carry their original Voter ID Card or Indian Passport along with 4 passport-size photographs. Indian Army checkposts strictly DO NOT accept Aadhaar cards or PAN cards for protected border security zone permits.

Question 6

What is the best time to visit Sikkim for tours?

Accepted Answer

The ideal seasons are Spring (March to May) for magnificent Rhododendron and orchid blooms in Yumthang and Barsey, and Autumn (October to mid-December) for crystal-clear panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga (28,169 ft) and crisp mountain weather.

Question 7

How much does a Sikkim tour package typically cost?

Accepted Answer

Sikkim tour packages typically range from ₹18,000 for a 4-day weekend circuit to ₹75,000 for a luxury 14-day 4-district expedition, covering dedicated vehicle hire, verified mountain chauffeurs, permit clearances, and luxury or boutique heritage stays.

Question 8

How to plan a Sikkim tour from Kolkata, Kalyani, or Nadia?

Accepted Answer

Travelers from Kolkata and Kalyani (Nadia) can board premier overnight express trains from Sealdah or Howrah (such as the Darjeeling Mail, Padatik Express, or Vande Bharat Express) stopping at or passing near Kalyani directly to New Jalpaiguri (NJP), or take 1-hour non-stop flights from Kolkata Airport (CCU) to Bagdogra (IXB). Sikkim Tour Co. arranges dedicated 4x4 mountain vehicles waiting right at the NJP station platform or Bagdogra arrival gate, ensuring immediate transfer to Gangtok without broker delays or shared taxi stress.

Question 9

Does Sikkim Tour Company provide direct car pickup from NJP railway station to Gangtok?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sikkim Tour Company provides dedicated, private Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Scorpio 4x4 pickups directly from NJP station platforms for travelers arriving from Kolkata, Kalyani, and across West Bengal. Our verified mountain chauffeurs track your train's live arrival time, wait with a name placard at the station portico, and handle all checkpost permit formalities.
